Green Bay Packers Running Back Arrested on Multiple Charges
A Green Bay Packers running back, Josh Jacobs, was taken into custody by the Hobart/Lawrence Police Department in Wisconsin on Tuesday. Jacobs, 28, faces five charges, including three forms of domestic abuse and felony strangulation.
According to police, Jacobs was booked into Brown County Jail in Green Bay after a disturbance complaint involving him at 8:37am on Saturday. The police department stated that the investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
Jacobs’ lawyers have denied the allegations through their statement, stating that “Josh vehemently denies the allegations” and that the matter is in its early stages of investigation with important evidence yet to be made public. They also requested fairness and restraint during the judicial process.
The National Football League (NFL) has confirmed that it has been in contact with the Packers regarding the situation. The team stated that they are aware of the matter but will withhold further comment due to the ongoing legal situation.
Jacobs, who is entering his third season with the Packers after signing a four-year, $48m free agent deal in 2024, has previously received accolades for his performance on the field, including three Pro Bowl selections and a first-team All-Pro award in 2022.
