LA Lakers Beat Washington Wizards 120-101 Behind LeBron James’ Triple-Double
The Los Angeles Lakers secured their 49th regular-season victory on Monday night, defeating the Washington Wizards 120-101. The win marked James’ 1,228th career victory, tying him with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most in NBA history.
LeBron James led the team with 21 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds. Austin Reaves added 19 points and nine assists. Luke Kennard and Jaxson Hayes also contributed 19 points each from the bench. Deandre Ayton chipped in with 12 points.
The Lakers improved to 7-6 without Luka Doncic, who served a one-game suspension after receiving his 16th technical foul of the season. The team’s victory was delayed by the Phoenix Suns’ win over Memphis earlier in the day, which prevented them from clinching a playoff berth and division title.
Washington Wizards’ Will Riley led the team with 20 points, while Justin Champagnie added 18. The Wizards lost for the 19th time in their last 20 games. James helped the Lakers take control of the game after the Wizards cut the deficit to 10 late in the third quarter. He finished with his third triple-double of the season and 125th in the regular season of his career.
