A New Video Emerges in Fatal ICE Shooting Case
A 47-second video has been released showing the final moments of Renee Nicole Good’s encounter with an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer before she was fatally shot. The footage, published by Alpha News, a Minnesota-based conservative news site, shows ICE officer Jonathan Ross approaching Good’s vehicle in the middle of the road while filming on his cellphone.
Good’s wife was also recording the encounter and can be seen walking around the vehicle and approaching the officer. A series of exchanges occurred between the two parties, with Good stating she was a US citizen and former veteran. Other officers approached the driver’s side of the car at the same time, and one said “Get out of the car, get out of the f—ing car.”
Ross then opened fire, causing Good’s vehicle to crash into other parked cars on the street. The video does not show the moment the car moved away or Ross opening fire.
The incident has sparked public outcry in the United States, with local officials in Minnesota condemning federal agencies for excluding them from the investigation. A local prosecutor has called on the public to share any recordings and evidence connected to the fatal shooting.
President Trump’s administration has defended the ICE agent who shot Good, claiming she was a “domestic terrorist” and that Ross was protecting himself and fellow agents. The White House has stated that the video supports the officer’s claim of self-defence.
The incident is the fourth person to be killed by ICE agents since Trump launched his immigration crackdown last year. Protests have erupted in multiple US cities, with denunciations of immigration enforcement tactics by the US government.
