New York Knicks defeat Los Angeles Lakers at Madison Square Garden

The New York Knicks secured a 112-100 win over the Los Angeles Lakers, extending their winning streak to six games. The victory came on Sunday night at Madison Square Garden, where LeBron James made his final appearance in the venue. OG Anunoby led the team with 25 points, while reserve Landry Shamet added 23 points.

James, a 41-year-old Lakers star, expressed his appreciation for playing at MSG, describing it as “the Mecca of basketball” and stating that it holds a special place for him. He also mentioned being humbled by being named to his record 22nd NBA All-Star Game.

The Knicks improved their record to 31-18, second in the Eastern Conference behind Detroit. The Lakers fell to 29-19 despite James’ 30 points and Luka Doncic’s 22 points.

In other games, reigning champions Oklahoma City beat Denver 121-111, while San Antonio defeated Orlando 112-103. Cleveland won 130-111 at Portland, and Detroit claimed a lopsided victory over Brooklyn 130-77. Miami also secured a significant win over Chicago 134-91, and Boston led Milwaukee 107-79.

The Los Angeles Clippers beat Phoenix 117-93, while the Toronto Raptors defeated Utah 107-100. Washington’s Will Riley scored 18 points to lead the host Wizards over Sacramento 116-112, stretching the Kings’ losing streak to six games.
