New York Knicks Take 3-0 Lead in Eastern Conference Finals
The New York Knicks secured a 121-108 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, extending their playoff win streak to 10 games and taking a commanding 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference finals. Jalen Brunson led the team with a game-high 30 points, while OG Anunoby added 21 and Mikal Bridges contributed 22.
The Knicks’ victory pushed them on the brink of their first NBA Finals appearance since 1999. The team’s last championship was in 1973. Brunson expressed his emotions after the game, stating that he was “at a loss for words” and praising his teammates for their effort.
In contrast, the Cavaliers struggled to regain momentum, never leading the game as the Knicks dominated from the start. Evan Mobley led Cleveland with 24 points, while Donovan Mitchell added 23 and James Harden scored 19.
The series is not over, according to Anunoby, who emphasized the importance of maintaining a strong mindset. “Just keep our foot on their necks and just try to win the game,” he said. Brunson also stressed the need for focus, saying that the team must concentrate on one possession at a time.
The Knicks’ success can be attributed to their ability to execute their game plan on both sides of the floor, according to Anunoby. The team’s next challenge will come in Game 4 on Monday in Cleveland, where they aim to complete a sweep and advance to the NBA Finals.
