Nine people have been killed and 28 injured in an Iranian missile strike on the Israeli town of Beit Shemesh, according to Israeli rescue services. The incident occurred as part of a series of retaliatory attacks launched by Iran against Israel and US military assets across several Middle Eastern countries.
In response to the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran has continued its missile strikes against Israeli and US targets. Residents in Tel Aviv reported hearing loud explosions, which were attributed to either missile strikes or defence system interceptions.
Israeli rescue services have confirmed nine fatalities and 28 injuries in Beit Shemesh, bringing Israel’s total casualty count to 10 since the conflict began. Iranian parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that Iran has crossed a “red line” and will face consequences for its actions.
The US military reported no casualties among its personnel but noted minimal infrastructure damage despite what it described as “hundreds of Iranian missile and drone attacks”. Israel’s military stated that Iran launched dozens of missiles toward Israeli territory, with many intercepted successfully. A woman in the Tel Aviv region also died from injuries sustained during the Iranian missile offensive.
Emergency services Magen David Adom confirmed the fatality in the Tel Aviv area.
