A Lebanese nurse has chosen to remain at her post in a hospital in the Bekaa Valley despite losing her fiancé in the ongoing conflict between Lebanon and Israel.
Narjis Bilal Salman, a nurse at the hospital, has stated that she intends to continue providing care to patients. Her decision comes after the loss of her partner during the 2024 Israel-Hezbollah war.
According to reports from the Lebanese Health Ministry, over 1,000 people have been reported dead and more than 2,740 others injured since Israel resumed its attacks on Lebanon earlier this month.
The hospital where Salman works has seen a significant increase in patients seeking medical attention due to the ongoing conflict. Salman’s decision to remain at her post is seen as an example of her commitment to providing care to those in need.
Salman’s fiancé was among the casualties reported during the conflict. Despite this, she has chosen to continue with her work, citing her role as a nurse and her desire to help others.
The hospital where Salman works has been operating at full capacity, treating patients affected by the conflict. The Lebanese Health Ministry has confirmed that the number of casualties continues to rise, with over 1,000 reported dead and more than 2,740 injured.
