Israeli Officials Deny Detaining Tucker Carlson’s Crew Member
Israeli authorities have denied detaining one of US podcaster Tucker Carlson’s crew members at Ben Gurion International Airport, according to a statement from the country’s Foreign Ministry. Carlson had claimed that Israeli officials briefly took his passport and interrogated one of his colleagues after an interview with US Ambassador Mike Huckabee.
According to reports published in The Daily Mail and The New York Post, Carlson stated that airport security personnel confiscated his passport and took his executive producer into a side room for questioning. However, Oren Marmorstein, Israel’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, has disputed these claims, stating that the former Fox News host was “politely asked a few routine questions” as part of standard procedures applied to many travelers.
The conversation allegedly took place in a separate room within the VIP lounge to protect the crew member’s privacy and avoid discussing sensitive topics in public. Carlson conducted the interview at the airport without exiting the complex before returning to the US, according to Israeli media reports. There were no further comments or statements from either party on social media or their respective websites.
The interview was organized following a public dispute between Carlson and Huckabee over an episode published by the podcaster about the treatment of Christians in Israel. The incident has sparked controversy within the Republican party, which has traditionally held unified support for Israel.
