US President Directs Federal Agencies to Release UFO Records
In a statement posted on his Truth Social platform, US President Donald Trump announced that he is directing federal agencies, including the Department of Defense, to identify and release government records related to unidentified flying objects (UFOs) and alien life forms. The move comes amid growing public interest following recent comments by former US President Barack Obama.
Trump stated that the goal is to “identify and release” all relevant files, without specifying whether classified documents will be made publicly available. He emphasized that the released information should include any additional details connected to these matters. Trump’s announcement appears to follow a surge in public attention sparked by Obama’s comments on aliens during a podcast interview.
Obama had suggested that aliens are “real,” but clarified that he had not personally seen one and did not have evidence of extraterrestrial contact during his presidency. The former president later released a statement on Instagram, reiterating his stance. Trump had previously criticized Obama for his remarks, stating that the former president made a mistake.
The Pentagon reported in 2024 that it found no proof that UFOs were alien technology, with most cases attributed to spy planes, satellites, and weather balloons. Despite this, messages of support poured in on social media and from Capitol Hill following Trump’s announcement. Republican Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna expressed gratitude for the decision, while Democratic Senator John Fetterman called it “fantastic.”
