Qatar says Irans attacks on neighbors have crossed multiple red lines

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Cites Escalation as Threat to Relations with Iran

A spokesperson for Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that ongoing attacks by Iran on neighboring countries are having a “catastrophic effect” on relations between the two nations. Majed al-Ansari made this assertion during a news conference on Tuesday, emphasizing the need for de-escalation in the conflict.

Al-Ansari noted that Iranian actions have crossed several red lines, prompting calls for restraint from all parties involved in the war. He also warned that further escalation would result in increased losses for all parties, highlighting the potential consequences of continued hostilities.

The attacks on Qatar and other regional countries, which began following joint US-Israeli operations against Iran at the end of February, have caused significant damage to civilian infrastructure, including airports, energy facilities, and ports. The affected countries have condemned the actions and called for an end to hostilities.

Separately, Pakistan has released a five-point initiative aimed at restoring peace and stability in the region. The proposal includes calls for the immediate cessation of hostilities, the start of peace talks, and the safeguarding of sovereignty and territorial integrity for Iran and Gulf states.

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that while the US is pursuing talks with Iran, military escalation remains an option. Meanwhile, Qatar continues to engage in diplomatic efforts, including ongoing communications with mediators and regional players, as it seeks a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
