Ukrainian Forces Report Attacks in Odesa and Zaporizhzhia Regions
Multiple attacks have been reported in Ukraine’s southern regions, resulting in civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure. According to officials, Russian drones targeted the port city of Odesa, injuring at least 11 people, including two children, and damaging homes, vehicles, and civilian facilities.
Odesa Governor Oleh Kiper stated that the attack affected three districts, causing significant damage to residential buildings, a hotel, warehouses, and a funicular railway. Windows were shattered in many buildings, and the port area sustained damage.
In the southeastern Zaporizhzhia region, Russian forces reported an attack that killed one person, a 59-year-old man. Ukrainian drone attacks also targeted the captured Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, killing an employee.
Regional Governor Ivan Fedorov stated that Russian forces launched 629 strikes across 45 settlements in the region, resulting in at least 50 reports of damage to homes and infrastructure. Additionally, Russian officials reported Ukrainian drone attacks in the Belgorod border region, where one person was killed and four women injured.
The attacks come as diplomatic efforts to end the war continue. US President Donald Trump recently stated that he has had “good conversations” with Presidents Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy, expressing hope for a resolution to the conflict.
