Seven People Wounded in Tacloban School Shooting
A shooting incident occurred on Monday morning at the San Jose National High School in Tacloban, Philippines, resulting in multiple injuries and fatalities. According to police reports, two students opened fire inside the school, causing harm to several individuals.
The suspects were identified as two students who used firearms during the incident. One suspect was arrested shortly after the shooting, while the other surrendered to authorities later. The victims have been transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
Police Chief Noelito Getigan stated that the suspects utilized .38-calibre and 9mm firearms in the shooting. Additional personnel were deployed at the school to ensure student safety, staff, parents, and community members.
Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered an investigation into the incident shortly after it occurred. His office released a statement expressing his sadness over the event and directing authorities to conduct a thorough investigation.
