US Central Command Announces Casualties in Operation Against Iran
A statement from US Central Command (CENTCOM) has confirmed that at least three service members have been killed in the ongoing operation against Iran. According to CENTCOM, five other personnel have sustained serious injuries as a result of the operation.
In addition to those seriously wounded, several others have received minor shrapnel injuries and concussions, with their status currently being assessed. These individuals are expected to undergo medical evaluation and will be returned to duty once they have recovered.
CENTCOM has also reported that US forces have engaged an Iranian warship in the Gulf of Oman. The Jamaran-class corvette is reportedly sinking at a Chah Bahar pier in southern Iran, according to CENTCOM’s statement.
The military organization has stated that it will withhold further information regarding the operation, including the identities of those killed, until 24 hours after next of kin have been notified.
