Trump Faces Multiple Assassination Attempts and Security Incidents Over Years

Security Incident Involving Trump Occurs at White House Correspondent’s Dinner

A security incident occurred on Saturday night at the Washington Hilton hotel, where US President Donald Trump and top officials were evacuated after an armed individual stormed the lobby and opened fire. The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen from Torrance, California, was taken into custody.

Allen is the latest in a series of individuals involved in security-related incidents involving Trump since 2024. In July, Trump was injured in a shooting at a campaign rally in Butler County, where multiple gunshots were heard. The Secret Service responded by shooting and killing the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks.

In September, Trump was targeted during an incident at his West Palm Springs resort in Florida, where gunshots were reported. A Secret Service agent spotted a gun barrel in bushes near the course and multiple officers fired at him, resulting in the suspect’s death. Prosecutors had previously sentenced 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh to life in prison for plotting to kill Trump.

Additionally, an incident involving Melvin Eng, a New York Police Department officer, occurred during the Ryder Cup golf tournament. Eng was found armed and in full tactical gear, pretending to be part of Trump’s security detail, but was later discovered to be on sick leave with no official assignment. The incident led to Eng’s suspension pending further investigation.

A separate incident also involved a man who crashed his vehicle into the security perimeter of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, resulting in his fatal shooting by Secret Service agents. The motive behind this incident is unclear.
