Trump receives majority Republican backing for potential Iran military action

US Politicians React to Attack on Iran

A series of strikes on Iran carried out by President Donald Trump’s administration has elicited varied responses from US politicians. Republican lawmakers have largely praised the actions, while Democrats have focused on the legal implications.

Some Republican lawmakers, including House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senator Lindsey Graham, have expressed support for the strikes, citing concerns over Iran’s nuclear ambitions and terrorism. Senator Chuck Grassley also shared a statement on X praising Trump’s efforts to address these issues.

Senator Bernie Moreno noted that the attack had changed the phrase “Death to America” to “Death by America.” Congressman Randy Fine wrote on X, expressing support for the strikes and calling for action against what he described as “Muslim terror.”

However, not all Republican lawmakers have supported the actions. Congressman Tom Massie declared himself a critic of the war, stating that it was not in line with the party’s “America First” platform.

In contrast, some Democrats have focused on the legal implications of the attacks. They argue that Trump should have sought congressional approval for the strikes, citing the US Constitution.

Meanwhile, former Trump ally Marjorie Taylor Greene shared several posts expressing concerns about the war’s impact on American families and children in Iran.
