A 12-year-old child was killed in an Israeli drone strike on Wednesday in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis city, in southern Gaza. According to health officials at the Nasser Medical Complex, several others were wounded in the attack.
Since the “ceasefire” took effect in October 2025, there have been reports of continued Israeli attacks in Gaza and the occupied West Bank. The Ministry of Health in Gaza has reported that at least 1,027 people have been killed and 3,280 others injured since the ceasefire began.
In total, since Israel’s military operations in Gaza began in October 2023, a cumulative number of Palestinians has been affected. According to official figures, 73,041 Palestinians have been killed, with 173,402 others wounded. Additionally, at least 71 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank since January 2026.
A United Nations commission of inquiry released a report stating that evidence shows Palestinian children have been deliberately targeted and killed by Israeli forces. The commission also found that Israel’s actions continue to disregard the ceasefire and international law.
Reports from Gaza City indicate that the area targeted by the drone strike was classified as a “safe zone” by Israel, but it was still attacked. At least seven Palestinians were injured in the same attack. Medical officials have reported difficulties in treating victims of Israeli strikes due to restrictions on medical supplies and medications entering the Gaza Strip.
In addition to the attacks in Gaza, Israeli forces also killed a Palestinian in the town of al-Yamoun in the northern occupied West Bank on Wednesday. The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that Mohammed Nazem Zayed, 29, was killed with live fire after being raided by troops.
