Iran Responds to Israeli Strikes with Vow of Revenge
Iran has issued a statement vowing “revenge” following Israeli strikes that killed Ali Larijani, the country’s security chief, and Gholamreza Soleimani, commander of Basij paramilitary forces. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Iran’s political system remains strong despite the ongoing conflict.
In response to the earlier strike in Ramat Gan, which resulted in two fatalities, Iran launched additional attacks on Israel, causing significant property damage. The conflict has expanded beyond its initial borders, with reports of missile and drone strikes targeting Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Jordan.
Tensions are escalating in the United States, as senior counterterrorism official Joe Kent resigned, citing pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby as a contributing factor to the war. President Donald Trump has also criticized NATO allies and partners for failing to provide stronger military support in efforts to resolve the conflict.
The situation remains fluid, with ongoing reports of violence and retaliation. The international community continues to monitor the situation closely.
