US Corporate Media Accused of Enabling Israeli Violence in Gaza
A recent attack on Gaza’s Bureij refugee camp has resulted in the death of Al Jazeera journalist Ahmed Wishah. This incident is part of a broader pattern of violence in the region, with over 1,000 Palestinians killed, including at least 265 children, since Israel continued to violate the ceasefire brokered by the US last October.
According to reports, more than 200 Palestinian journalists have been killed by Israel since October 7, 2023. Al Jazeera journalist Ahmed Wishah is the 12th Al Jazeera journalist to be killed in this period.
Journalist Adam Johnson has written a new book titled “How to Sell a Genocide”, which explores the role of US corporate and legacy media in shaping public attitudes and political decisions regarding the conflict in Gaza.
In his book, Johnson examines how Western media may have contributed to normalizing Israel’s violence against Palestinians. The author will discuss this topic further with Marc Lamont Hill on UpFront.
The ceasefire brokered by the US last October has not been fully respected by Israel, which continues to violate its terms. The incident at Bureij refugee camp is a reminder of the ongoing tensions in the region and the need for continued attention to the conflict.
Details of the book and the upcoming discussion between Marc Lamont Hill and Adam Johnson will be provided in subsequent reports.
