US investigators search Epsteins former New Mexico ranch

Search Underway at Zorro Ranch Following Release of Investigative Files

A search operation has commenced at Jeffrey Epstein’s former New Mexico property, Zorro Ranch, as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of wrongdoing by the late financier. The search was initiated on Monday following the release of millions of investigative files that have raised renewed attention to Epstein’s activities at the remote location.

New Mexico Attorney General Raul Torrez ordered authorities to reexamine Epstein’s treatment of women and girls at the property last month, after a prior investigation in 2019 was closed at the request of federal prosecutors. State lawmakers are also conducting a bipartisan “truth commission” to examine Epstein’s activities in New Mexico, equipped with subpoena powers.

The search area has been restricted due to ongoing law enforcement operations, with authorities urging the public to stay away from the location and refrain from drone activity nearby. The New Mexico Department of Justice stated that it will continue to provide updates on the investigation, support survivors, and follow the facts as they become available.

Epstein owned the property from 1993 until his death in 2019, following an indictment on sex trafficking charges. While Epstein was never charged with crimes related to the Zorro Ranch during his lifetime, accusers have alleged abuse at the property. The US Department of Justice’s latest release of files contains unsubstantiated tips and claims, including an email from a purported former employee offering videos of Epstein abusing minors in exchange for payment.
