US Military Conducts Attack on Vessel in Eastern Pacific Ocean

A US military operation resulted in the deaths of two individuals and one survivor after a missile struck a vessel in the eastern Pacific Ocean. The attack, carried out by US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), was announced on Friday with accompanying video footage showing the incident.

According to SOUTHCOM, the vessel was operated by “Designated Terrorist Organizations” but no evidence supporting this claim was provided. The organization stated that intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and engaged in narco-trafficking operations.

The attack is the third incident involving US military forces in May, following a similar operation reported by the US military on Tuesday, which resulted in the deaths of three individuals. Since the US began its operation in September targeting alleged narco-traffickers, more than 170 people have been killed, according to reports.

SOUTHCOM stated that no military personnel were harmed during the operation. Rights groups and international legal experts have expressed concerns over the nature of these attacks, with some calling for accountability from the US government.
