US President Trump Describes Ongoing Campaign in Iran as Highly Successful
In a statement on Wednesday, US President Donald Trump expressed confidence in the success of the ongoing military campaign against Iran. When asked to rate the war’s success on a scale of one to 10, Trump replied that he would give it a score of 15.
Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth also spoke about the campaign, stating that the US military is operating with little restraint and targeting Iranian leaders. He claimed that the US air power is “controlling the skies” and bringing “death and destruction from the sky”.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei responded to Hegseth’s remarks, calling them an admission of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt echoed Hegseth’s language, stating that the US military will continue to target specific targets in Iran. Iranian officials have reported numerous attacks by the US and Israel on civilian targets, including schools and hospitals.
According to reports, a strike hit a girls’ school in Minab on February 28, killing 165 people. The Pentagon is investigating this incident.
The conflict has resulted in thousands of casualties, including hundreds of civilian deaths, and has shown no signs of subsiding. Iran has also launched missiles and drones at civilian targets in the Gulf region.
Despite the ongoing violence, the Iranian ruling structure remains standing, with no visible internal challenge emerging against the Islamic Republic system.
US President Trump expressed confidence in the war effort, stating that “we’re doing very well on the warfront”.
