US President Trump announces potential end of Iran conflict soon

US President Donald Trump has stated that the war with Iran may conclude “soon” due to the limited targets remaining for the US military to attack. In an interview with Axios on Wednesday, Trump said he can decide when to end the fighting at any time. Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz echoed this sentiment, stating that the operation will continue without a set timeline as long as objectives are met.

Trump also reported that the war is proceeding ahead of schedule, citing significant damage inflicted during the initial six-week period. The US president has previously stated that the war would end soon, but no clear timeline for its conclusion has been provided by Washington.

Tehran continues to block the Hormuz Strait and launch attacks across the region, despite US efforts to target Iranian military capabilities. The disruption of commercial shipping through the strait has led to increased oil prices and economic uncertainty worldwide.

In a statement on Wednesday, the US military urged Iranians to avoid ports near the strait, warning that naval forces would be positioned in civilian ports serving commercial maritime traffic. Trump’s administration has boasted about the war efforts, citing heavy blows inflicted on Iran’s military capabilities.

The conflict has resulted in at least 1,300 deaths and thousands of bombs being launched against Iranian targets. Despite US threats, Tehran has maintained its position, firing drones and missiles against Israel and targeting US assets across the Middle East.
