US President Trump Conducts First Airstrike in Venezuela

US President Announces Strike on Venezuelan Dock, Alleging Narcotics Trafficking

United States President Donald Trump announced that a land-based strike was carried out against a docking facility in Venezuela on Monday. The operation targeted the area where boats carrying narcotics were allegedly loaded.

According to Trump, the US military struck the dock, resulting in a major explosion. He stated that the strike aimed to disrupt the implementation of narcotics trafficking activities.

The US military later confirmed that another attack was carried out on a boat in the eastern Pacific, killing two people. The location of this strike is not specified.

Venezuelan authorities have yet to confirm the incident. Tensions between Washington and Caracas have escalated since September, when the Trump administration began a series of strikes on Venezuelan vessels in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific.

The US government claims that these strikes are aimed at disrupting drug trafficking activities. However, no evidence has been presented to support this claim. The Trump administration has also seized Venezuelan oil tankers and imposed a naval blockade on sanctioned oil tankers near the coast.

Caracas has accused Washington of using allegations of drug trafficking as a pretext for regime change in Venezuela. Legal experts have raised concerns about the targeting of vessels in international waters, citing potential violations of US and international law.

The strike on Monday’s docking facility is the latest development in this ongoing situation. The incident raises questions about the implications of this action and its potential impact on relations between the US and Venezuela.
