US Military Conducts Airstrikes Against Iran, Destroys Infrastructure
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that its forces have destroyed Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) command and control facilities, air defense installations, missile launch sites, and drone launch sites in Iran. The airstrikes, which began on Monday, continued for a fourth day, with Tehran responding with retaliatory attacks across the region.
According to CENTCOM, US forces struck over 1,250 targets in Iran, destroying 11 Iranian ships. However, no evidence has been provided to support these claims. The military also confirmed that six US service personnel have been killed in Iranian retaliatory attacks on Kuwait, which mistakenly shot down three US F-15E fighter jets.
Iranian officials report that at least five members of the IRGC’s air force and navy have been killed in US-Israeli attacks on cities in Bushehr province. The conflict has also seen explosions reported in Tehran, Isfahan, and Shiraz, as well as Israeli airstrikes targeting Iranian defense systems and ballistic missile launch platforms.
Israel’s military spokesman, Avichay Adraee, stated that Israeli aircraft targeted personnel operating Iran’s defense systems, including radar sites and missile launchers. The Israeli army also launched simultaneous attacks on positions in Beirut, Lebanon, which are purportedly affiliated with Hezbollah.
Top UN officials have warned about the “serious” threat to children following the rapidly escalating military operations in Iran and across the region. They called for an immediate cessation of hostilities, stressing that “maximum restraint is imperative, and full compliance with international humanitarian and human rights law must be ensured at all times by all parties.”
