US Soccer Team Announces 2026 World Cup Squad
The United States Men’s National Team has named its 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The team is evenly split between 13 players who will make their World Cup debut and 13 players who participated in the 2022 tournament in Qatar.
Head coach Mauricio Pochettino has selected a mix of experienced players and newcomers to form his team. Christian Pulisic, Tyler Adams, and Weston McKennie will lead the team at the World Cup. The squad includes three goal scorers from the 2022 tournament: Pulisic, Tim Weah, and Haji Wright.
Pochettino stated that he is confident in the team’s abilities to achieve success at the World Cup. “We are thankful to all the players who were part of this journey,” he said. “This group is very focused and ready to give everything they have to represent the United States.”
The squad features a mix of experienced players, including captain Tyler Adams, and newcomers like Folarin Balogun, who will compete for the leading role upfront in Pochettino’s preferred formation. Gio Reyna has also been included despite limited playing time this season.
Alejandro Zendejas earned a place after a strong finish to the season with Club America, while Diego Luna was left off the roster due to injury. The US team is cohosting the tournament with Mexico and Canada for the first time since 1994.
The squad will face Paraguay in their Group D campaign opener on June 12 at SoFi Stadium near Los Angeles.
