Minneapolis Woman Fatally Shot by ICE Agent During Immigration Raid

A 37-year-old woman, identified as Renee Nicole Good, has been fatally shot by a federal immigration officer in Minneapolis during an immigration raid. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning, with reports of gunshots received shortly after 9:30am.

According to Mayor Jacob Frey, the victim was acting as a legal observer at the time of the incident. Legal observers are volunteers who attend protests to monitor interactions between law enforcement and demonstrators, documenting any confrontations or potential legal violations.

The shooting has sparked protests in Minneapolis, with local officials and President Donald Trump’s administration providing different accounts of what happened during the incident. Videos of the incident show a masked ICE agent shooting three times towards an SUV before it crashed into other parked cars.

Multiple witnesses reported seeing the agent shoot, with some onlookers shouting “Shame!” at the agent and asking him to stop. The victim was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where she died of her injuries.

The Minneapolis City Council has identified the victim as Renee Nicole Good, a resident of the city who was out caring for her neighbors at the time of the incident. In a joint statement, council members demanded that ICE leave Minneapolis and called for the agent to be arrested, investigated, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The victim’s family has spoken out about her death, with her mother, Donna Ganger, describing her as “extremely compassionate” and an “amazing human being.” The incident has sparked widespread outrage and calls for accountability.
