According to reports, the suspect, identified as Cole Tomas Allen, a 31-year-old resident of Torrance, California, forced his way through a security checkpoint outside the hotel ballroom, where the president and hundreds of guests were in attendance. Security personnel responded by shooting at the suspect, who was subsequently arrested at the scene.
