Jake Paul drops from WBA cruiserweight rankings following loss to Anthony Joshua

American Boxer Jake Paul Loses WBA Ranking After Defeat to Anthony Joshua

Jake Paul has been removed from the World Boxing Association (WBA) cruiserweight rankings following his loss to Anthony Joshua in a heavyweight bout last month. The YouTuber-turned-boxer suffered a broken jaw, requiring surgery to repair the damage.

Joshua’s victory came after six rounds, resulting in a knockout win for the former world heavyweight champion. Paul had entered the WBA’s cruiserweight rankings at No 14 in July, following his unanimous decision win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in Anaheim, California. Prior to the bout against Joshua, he was ranked No 15.

Bosnian boxer Edin Puhalo has taken Paul’s place in the top 15, having secured his 29th career win in December. The WBA ranking announcement and changes apply to the period ending December 31.
