Lionel Messi breaks records with sixth World Cup title win

Lionel Messi Scores Three Goals in Argentina’s 3-0 Win Over Algeria at FIFA World Cup

Argentina’s Lionel Messi scored his third goal of the match against Algeria on Tuesday night, marking a milestone in his World Cup career. The 38-year-old player achieved this feat exactly 20 years after making his World Cup debut for Argentina in 2006.

Messi became the most decorated player in World Cup history with this achievement, surpassing previous records held by other players. He also equalled Kylian Mbappe’s goal tally at a World Cup and matched Miroslav Klose’s record of 16 World Cup goals.

The match was played at Kansas City Stadium, where Messi made his 200th international appearance. Argentina won the game 3-0, with Messi scoring in the 17th minute and again after Algerian goalkeeper Luca Zidane offered a rebound. The crowd of nearly 70,000 gave him a standing ovation as he was substituted out of the game.

Messi’s performance marked a significant moment in his career, as he became the oldest World Cup hat-trick scorer and the first player to score in five consecutive World Cup matches. He will look to continue this success when Argentina takes on Austria on Monday in Dallas, before facing Jordan in their last group game on June 27.

The win marked a strong start for Argentina’s campaign in the tournament, with Messi set to face more challenges as he continues to break records and achieve milestones.
