Liverpool Forward Mohamed Salah to Miss Remainder of Premier League Season Due to Hamstring Injury
Egypt national team director Ibrahim Hassan has confirmed that Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah will miss the remainder of the Premier League season due to a hamstring injury sustained during Saturday’s 3-1 win over Crystal Palace. The injury, which occurred in the 60th minute of play, will require four weeks of treatment.
Salah, who announced his departure from Liverpool at the end of the season, was seen applauding the crowd as he walked off the field after suffering the injury. According to Hassan, Salah has suffered a hamstring tear and will be out for an extended period.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot expressed concern over Salah’s condition, stating that it is “the story of our season.” However, Hassan assured that Salah will make a full recovery in time for Egypt’s participation in the 2026 World Cup.
Salah, who has been Liverpool’s third-highest goal scorer across all competitions this season with 12 goals and nine assists, will not be available to play in the remainder of the Premier League season. The team has two home fixtures remaining against Chelsea on May 9 and Brentford on May 24.
Hassan also stated that Salah is determined to recover in time for the 2026 World Cup, which starts on June 11, and avoid a repeat injury setback experienced before the 2018 edition.
