Oman Reports Drone Incidents in Sohar Province
Two drones have targeted Oman’s Sohar province, resulting in the deaths of two foreign nationals and injuries to others, according to a statement from Oman’s state news agency. The incident occurred on Friday morning, with one drone hitting the al-Awahi Industrial Area and causing fatalities, while another fell in an open area without reported casualties.
The agency also stated that authorities are investigating the incident. On Wednesday, drones struck fuel tanks at Oman’s Salalah port, but Tehran denied involvement in that attack. The energy ministry confirmed that there was no disruption to oil supplies or petroleum derivatives in the country.
Separately, Saudi forces intercepted a drone targeting Riyadh’s Diplomatic Quarter on Friday, which houses foreign embassies. Three additional drones were also intercepted elsewhere in Saudi Arabia at around the same time. Air defences shot down eight more drones in various regions of the country, including the al-Kharj governorate and west of the capital, Riyadh.
In Dubai, debris fell on a building’s facade after an attack was intercepted by the air defences of the United Arab Emirates. The incident occurred on Friday morning, with no reported injuries. The region has been affected by ongoing conflict since Israel and the US launched joint attacks on Iran on February 28, resulting in significant casualties.
Since then, Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting various countries, including Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations hosting US military assets.
