Real Madrid Sign Ibrahima Konate to Multi-Year Deal from Liverpool

Real Madrid Announces Signing of Ibrahima Konate

Real Madrid has confirmed the signing of defender Ibrahima Konate from Liverpool, with the 27-year-old agreeing to a four-year contract that will run until June 30, 2030. The transfer was announced on Thursday by the Spanish club.

Konate, who joined Liverpool in 2021 from RB Leipzig, has made 183 appearances for the English side and won several titles, including the Premier League in 2025 and the FA Cup in 2022. He is currently representing France at the World Cup.

The signing of Konate marks a significant addition to Real Madrid’s squad, which has been bolstered by the arrival of new coach Jose Mourinho this summer. The club has also signed Spain left-back Marc Cucurella and Portugal midfielder Bernardo Silva. Los Blancos have reportedly linked with Inter Milan wing-back Denzel Dumfries as part of their efforts to overhaul their squad.

Konate’s signing is seen as a key move by Real Madrid, which has not won a major trophy in two consecutive seasons. The club has renewed the contract of centre-back Antonio Rudiger until 2027, following the departures of Dani Carvajal and David Alaba at the end of their contracts.
