Russian drone strike kills at least 12 people in Ukrainian bus attack

A drone strike by Russian forces in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region resulted in the deaths of at least 12 people and injured seven others. The attack occurred on a bus carrying miners, according to Ukrainian Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal. The victims were employees of the energy firm DTEK, who were returning from a shift.

The incident took place in Ternivka city, where footage showed a charred bus with shattered windows that had veered off the road. Police confirmed that 12 people were killed and seven others injured as a result of the attack.

Earlier on Sunday, regional officials reported that at least nine people had been wounded in Russian strikes on a maternity hospital and a residential building in Zaporizhzhia city. The attacks come amid ongoing negotiations between Russia, Ukraine, and the US.

The Kremlin confirmed earlier this month that it agreed to suspend attacks on Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, until Sunday. However, details of the agreement were not disclosed. The US President Donald Trump stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin had agreed to temporarily halt targeting of Ukrainian capital and other cities.

Russia and Ukraine are set to meet for a second round of talks in Abu Dhabi this month, following trilateral discussions with the US last month. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the second round of talks will take place on Wednesday and Thursday in Abu Dhabi.
