Saint-Maximin Leaves Club America Amid Racist Attacks on Children

Former Newcastle Winger Allan Saint-Maximin Leaves Club America After Family Incident

Allan Saint-Maximin has parted ways with Mexican club Club America just months after joining the team. The 28-year-old French winger signed a two-year contract with the Liga MX club in August, reportedly worth $10m. However, he made only 15 appearances before his departure on Saturday.

According to a statement from the club, Saint-Maximin’s decision to leave was announced just two days after he revealed that his children had been targeted by racist attacks. The Mexico City-based team expressed solidarity with Saint-Maximin and his family, condemning any act of discrimination or violence that violates human dignity.

Saint-Maximin took to Instagram to address the incident, stating that protecting his children is his top priority. He wrote: “Protecting my children is my priority. I will fight with all my strength to ensure they are respected and loved, regardless of their origins or skin colour.”

Club America’s manager, Andre Jardine, described Saint-Maximin as a “great player” who was doing well for the league before his departure. The team has yet to disclose specific details about the incident that prompted Saint-Maximin’s decision to leave.

Saint-Maximin had previously signed with Club America in August, and his brief stint with the club came to an abrupt end on Saturday.
