Trump and Netanyahu Meet in Florida to Discuss Key Issues

US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a meeting at Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida on Monday, discussing tensions in the Middle East. The two leaders exchanged praise for each other, with Trump calling Netanyahu a “hero” and Netanyahu expressing appreciation for US support.

During the meeting, Trump emphasized the importance of Hamas disarmament, stating that if the group refuses to give up its weapons, it would face severe consequences. He also reiterated claims that other countries have offered to eliminate Hamas if it does not surrender its arms. Netanyahu’s government has been criticized for its handling of Gaza, with over 414 Palestinians killed since the start of the ceasefire in October.

Trump suggested that Washington would take military action against Iran if Tehran rebuilds its nuclear program or missile capacity. He argued that US air strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities in June paved the way for the ceasefire in Gaza. Trump also stated that Israel is fully complying with its commitments under a deal, saying “I’m not concerned about anything that Israel is doing.”

The meeting comes as Israeli officials and their US allies have focused on Iran’s missile program, arguing it should be addressed before posing a threat to Israel. When asked if the US would support an Israeli attack targeting Iran’s missile program, Trump replied, “Yes” for both the nuclear and non-nuclear aspects.

Iran has denied seeking to build a nuclear weapon and has ruled out negotiating over its missile program. Netanyahu praised Trump’s leadership, saying that Israel may not have existed without his wartime efforts. The two leaders expressed their commitment to maintaining peace in the Middle East, with Trump stating that “a lot of good things are happening” in the region.
