World Cup Golden Boot Favourites Include Mbappe, Ronaldo and Messi

Three Players Seek Second Golden Boot Win at World Cup 2026

Several top players are vying for the coveted title of top goal scorer at the upcoming World Cup 2026. Among them are Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane, and James Rodriguez, who have all won the award in previous tournaments.

Mbappe, a forward for Manchester City, has previously won the Golden Boot at the 2018 World Cup with six goals. He is expected to be a strong contender this time around, having scored 61 goals in 51 matches for Bayern Munich during the 2025-2026 season. Kane, an England striker, also won the Golden Boot at the 2018 World Cup and has since become one of the top goal-scorers in European leagues.

Kane’s previous appearances at the World Cup have been successful, with six goals in 2018 and two goals in 2022. He will be looking to build on his recent form for Bayern Munich, which saw him win the Golden Shoe award as leading goal scorer in the European leagues. Mbappe, meanwhile, has not appeared in a previous World Cup tournament but is expected to make an impact this time around.

Other players, including Haaland and Messi, are also competing for the top spot. However, their chances of winning the award will depend on various factors, such as their team’s performance and the length of their stay in the tournament.

The 2026 World Cup is set to feature a range of talented players, and it remains to be seen who will emerge victorious in the Golden Boot competition.
