Tehran Officials Meet with Pakistani Officials Amid Nuclear Talks Stalemate

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met senior Pakistani officials in Islamabad on Saturday, marking the latest development in stalled nuclear talks between Iran and the United States. The meeting was part of Araghchi’s tour of regional capitals, which also included stops in Oman and Russia.

Araghchi stated that he had yet to determine whether the US is genuinely committed to diplomacy, citing a lack of clarity on the American side. This comes after the White House announced plans for direct negotiations with Iran, only to cancel them at the last minute.

US President Donald Trump expressed skepticism about Iranian leadership’s ability to reach an agreement, stating that “we have all the cards” and that Iran has none. He also claimed that there is infighting among Iran’s leadership, which he believes undermines their ability to negotiate effectively.

In response, Iranian officials have emphasized unity in opposing any concessions to Trump. State media has released synchronized messages emphasizing absolute loyalty to Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei and the country’s revolutionary ideals.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also issued a statement warning that armed forces would retaliate against the US if it continues its blockade of Iranian waters. The IRGC claimed to have regained control over two vessels seized in the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran says is a vital waterway for international trade.

Iranian authorities have called on supporters to take to the streets every night to maintain control and unity. In a recent rally in Tehran, a prominent state-backed religious singer emphasized the importance of putting aside factional infighting during times of war.
